A brief introduction to Closed Class instruction . . .

What Does The Prosperos Teach?

Timeless Instruction in Ontology Leading to a Transcendent, Transformative, Extra-Ordinary, Evolutionary Path of Consciousness

The Prosperos teaches the Philosophy of Ontology through its foundation classes Translation® and Releasing the Hidden Splendour™, in the tradition of Thane of Hawaii.

What is Translation® ?

TRANSLATE: "To bear or change from one place, condition, etc. . . . Specif., a) to remove to heaven, orig. without death."

—Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary

TRANSLATION® is a remarkable step-by-step method to transform and enrich every area of your life. The study of pure Truth, TRANSLATION® gives you the power to finally penetrate the illusion of matter and physicality . . . by reperceiving your rapidly changing world of sensory appearances. With the application of TRANSLATION®, you can experience the birth of the greater self you have always felt you should be.

What is Releasing the Hidden Splendour™ ?

Releasing the Hidden Splendour™ is a safe and systematic method of reperceiving your past so you are no longer a passive product of earlier programming, nor just a creature of societal conditioning.

You can unlearn any behavior, change any script, and rewrite your life story.

Releasing the Hidden Splendour™ is utterly unique among existing psychotherapeutic systems by not only resolving the conflicts, past and present, arising out of your "family of origin", but also by returning you to your original nature, the very nature of Being. The goal is full restoration to Wholeness.

These classes enable you to move in exciting new ways of being, experiencing, loving. They are profoundly transformational, evolutionary, and liberating.

T.S. Eliot says:

"Between the idea and the reality, between the motion and the act . . . falls the shadow."

Don't let the shadow of hesitation keep you from participating in this timeless treasury of instruction!

What is Ontology?

Ontology
All of the teachings of The Prosperos® are based on an ancient practice called 'ontology' --- the science of Being. Ontology reveals the true, unlimited, nature of every human being.

It transcends all religious systems because it is based on 'knowing' not 'believing.' It redefines prayer, frees humanity from false belief in sin and hell, and discovers Truth beyond dogma and Reality without ritual. This higher transformative study heals the destructive divisions of mind and body, male and female, spiritual and sensual, man and God.

What is the Fourth Way and how can I learn more about it?

THE FOURTH WAY

Rather than withdraw in a monastery or an ashram,
the student of the Fourth Way stayed in life,
learned to use life --- use the uncertainty, shocks,
suffering and negativity it produced --- to
come to real life.

—William Patrick Patterson, Ladies of the Rope

In the early part of the 20th Century, a mysterious teacher, Gurdjieff, introduced a radical, yet ancient, esoteric teaching to the West. It was called the 'Fourth Way,' or the 'way of the sly man.'

The premise: all of us are caught in the 'sleep of matter,' conditioning and mechanicalness. The goal: to awaken at all costs, to become fully 'conscious.'

In 1956 Thane founded The Prosperos® and used it as a vehicle to communicate Fourth Way knowledge to his students. (See the extract from Robert S. Ellwood's book.) The new School became unique in the history of personal growth studies. Thane updated Mr. Gurdjieff's methods with the latest in psychological insights and esoteric practicesbecause Thane extended Gurdjieff’s teachings to include Ontological Transcendentalism.

This radical breakthrough philosophy repudiates all of today's Feel Good New Age teachings which are based on old metaphysical systems. This is not meditation, imaging, self-esteem, or positive thinking. There is another higher, safer and swifter way. Enlightenment can only come from a radical transformation of consciousness.

You are invited to join us in the exciting exploration of this priceless legacy of life-expanding knowledge.

"We can all be motivated by the Ultimate Cause of the Universe."
— Thane

Why is class instruction necessary, even important, when there are so many wonderful books and tapes available?

Even the greatest inspiration and instruction, once put into a book, tends to become stale and fixed. The student is tempted to accept instructions as mechanical formulae. Thus it is important to understand that pedagogy, the art of teaching, is the art of making things understood and this art can never be reduced to a mechanical formula.

Only through the contact that is established between teacher and student, in class, can the language, in one way or another, get over to the audience. There, the inspired and qualified instructor has the opportunity to rephrase and redirect instructions so that understanding is reached by all. Obviously, no amount of reading and study can neutralize the worth of direct, personal teaching.

When is class given?

Class is presented over a weekend, and includes approximately 14 hours of instruction. There are appropriate recesses for rest and refreshments, and a one-hour meal recess. Class concludes early Sunday evening.
