QUESTION: Do you know your sister?

STORY: I did this drawing of a photo that my friend, Stephanie took of my sister Gay and her daughter, Erin. Gay came to visit me when I was living in an apartment in Santa Monica, CA and she brought Erin, her first child, with her. Erin was born October 18, 1980 so she is about 6 months old in this picture. If I recall correctly they visited me in April or May 1981 and they stayed with me for about a week. Both Gay and Erin look very happy and full of energy! I was so glad they came to visit me, and on top of that, I was at a turning point in my life - as I had just recently begun my Art Apprenticeship with Jan Valentin Saether. Wow! Gay had just had her first child and I was beginning what would be a deeply creative life experience that led to me writing my first book: Drawing as a Sacred Activity. It seems like sister relationships are full of meaningful and creative journeys.
