Celebration of Life for Al Haferkamp H.W., M.


Al haferkamp H.W., M.

With heavy hearts, we regret to report that longtime Prosperos student, Mentor and

Dean Emeritus, Al Haferkamp, recently passed away. Al came to us after serving in the

military and after finding The Prosperos, spent time at our live-in outpost in Mt. Shasta,

California and got totally involved with the teachings of Thane. He participated in many

Prosperos activities throughout the years, was a staunch volunteer at the Prosperos

Servers Center, spent time with Thane at the Rectory, and was friends with many of our

students.

After becoming a Mentor, Al became one of our finest counselors as well as an

instructor of our classes. Eventually he became a Trustee and then was elected as

Dean of the Prosperos in 2009, a position he held until he retired in 2022. Al continued

to be active in the school and even served as Acting Dean for the past year.

 A Celebration of Life will be held in Al's memory via Zoom, on Sunday, November 15, at

11:00 a.m. Pacific Time. You are all invited to join in hearing several long-time students

share their memories of Al, and you are welcome to share your own thoughts of him.

Curiosity raises us to a higher level of consciousness when we ask: Hey, what is this? Why must I do this? Who am I?

You may be one of the curious people today who seek freedom from the old patterns of control, from old fear-based conditioning. PROSPEROS STORY:  Thane Walker founded The Prosperos in 1956. During WWII he worked with the German Underground and was locked up in a concentration camp in Germany. He thought he was going to die and at first felt that dying was the best way to go because there was nothing he could do. But then his attention shifted! He awakened and realized that, even if the Nazi's kill him - they could never touch his Innate True Self - the Essential Beingness that he truly is - and that which we all truly are! Thane felt completely free in his Innate True Self - and the next day he was released. They did not want it known that an American person was killed there. It took him ten years to recover and during that time he created two tools to help people wake up to their Innate True Self.

This thinking is deeply untrue and deeply insane. It wounds the world because it breaks the heart. "Personality can be achieved by hair styling and dressing, and all sorts of class instruction about how to behave to be an outstanding personality. But there is a thing that can be learned and experienced through Ontology that makes individuality shine through the personality and give it great distinction."

Thane taught with Lillian De Waters and drew his absolute viewpoint from the work of Emma Curtis Hopkins, whose books and lessons he aided in having sought out and reprinted in the 1930s. Other associations included G.I. Gurdjieff, Emmett Fox, Sigmund Freud, C.G. Jung, and J. Krishnamurti. After many years of spiritual study and teaching Thane and a small group of students founded The Prosperos in 1956.

In this class we dive into the Old Testament Bible stories of Moses, Joseph, Ruth & Naomi and Job. These people suffered enormous challenges and by turning within to listen to God, their Higher Self, they awakened to a whole new understanding of their life purpose! This can happen to you as well - as you practice the RHS tool.

In this class and in the workshops that follow - you will learn how to “WORK” with a memory that made you feel bad (angry, fearful, hurt, insulted, injured, etc) - and you will learn a simple emotional technique to GIVE-UP the old pattern FOR a Whole, new understanding of your unique life purpose!

In many, many ways we all are unconsciously conditioned by the ancient survival dynamic of “Fight or Flight”. We automatically react in anger and fight the problem - or - we react in fear and run away from the problem. Thankfully there are ways to move beyond our unconscious conditioning!

The RHS tool is a simple tool that helps us to free ourselves from old patterns, to know ourselves Truthfully - to LOVE ourselves unconditionally - and to more fully live our unique, individual life purpose. Heather has used this tool for over 50 years and is very grateful to share it with you!

You will study biblical stories of Moses, Joseph, Ruth & Naomi and Job. These people suffered enormous challenges and they turned within, listened to God and awakened to a whole new understanding! Why is our CURIOSITY so important today?


I’m sure you agree that a human being must be free (mentally, emotionally and politically) in order to stand quietly and question or be curious and wonder about what is going on in the world today. A free-thinking person will not be easily conditioned to do this or that - while a non-curious person prefers to simply follow the orders of a group or leader (corporate, government or social media, etc.).

I’m sure you know that we all are conditioned by the ancient survival dynamic of “Fight or Flight”. We are conditioned to react in anger in order to fight a problem - or - we react in fear and run away from the problem. Curiosity raises us to a higher level of consciousness when we ask: Hey, what is this? Why must I do this? Who am I?

You may be one of the curious people today who seek freedom from the old patterns of control, from old fear-based conditioning. Do you yearn to connect with the Wholeness of your Innate, True Self?  If so - you may be interested in exploring The Prosperos Classes! Sunday Meeting: Exploring Cosmic Intention

This talk is the first of a three-part series.

Come join Richard Hartnett as he explores the question Is there a Cosmic Intention? in this exciting new Sunday Meeting series!

In this first part, Richard shares his journey into this question from his first time taking the class Cosmic Intention Therapy to studying with Barbara Marx Hubbard and her Committee for Future. He will reflect on the differences between these approaches, as well as the continuing importance of asking the question Is there a Cosmic Intention? today.

Richard Hartnett, H.W.,M. has over 35 years experience as a Spiritual counselor and teacher.  He became a Mentor of the Prosperos in 1985.  He is a certified  Master Tarot Instructor with The American Tarot Association.  He has presented Prosperos classes in cities all over the United Staes, including Atlanta, San Diego, New York City, Los Angeles and of course Denver where he lives.

In addition to his work as a mentor of the Prosperos he has studied Native American spirituality, Sufism, Jungian Psychology,  and World mythology. He is the author of two books on Mythology:  “The New Old Gods” and “The Call of the Soul”.

He is also the creator of a new expanded Tarot deck and its companion Book called, “The Evolutionary Tarot”.

But most of all he is a student of Ontology and is looking forward to studying the universe for a long time to come
