An Experience with Calvin's Translation Class
A little old couple who had begun their lives together sixty years ago, after attending a class given by Thane, Dean of the Prosperos, set out to attend a Translation class. Preparing in advance the little old man had consulted his computer for directions.and mapped a plan to arrive early at their destination.
It had been raining mercilessly for several weeks but today, they had received a reprieve The sun peeked out from behind a single angry black cloud as they drove to Calvin Harris's Translation Presentation, Upon arriving at the O S U North Campus they parked at the first lot where the attendant directed them to the Conference Center half a block away..They enjoyed the short walk taking in the flowers and greenery of the landscape, But to their surprise, when they entered the building, they became unsettled to see a single empty reception table and behind it was a neon sign that flashed Tulsa Room. They took a seat on the long set of benches that lined the room and waited. Becoming inpatient, the little old lady began to wander the hallways calling out names and when there was no access to locked doors, she retrieved her cellphone and began calling other members, but there was no answer.
By now, they were late, so the little old man returned to the campus in search of help, while the little old lady frantically searched upstairs calling out for help.before joining her husband on campus. Finally, a lone person appeared a block away and they pursued him, posing their questions. He directed them to another building called the Pete and Pat Bartlett Tulsa Room. With the wind at their backs they were haff-pushed to their destination. Arriving almost breathless, they were greeted with much Aloha, and they had, at last, found their tribe. Almost as if on cue, the thunder clasped, followed by a magnificent flash of lightning and the rain cloud opened up.
Calvin relayed his remarkable insights before presenting an audio of Thane's original message. Thane's voice always took the little old lady back to that first class when her friend (at the time) first introduced her to Thane and she immediately felt she was in the presence of someone extraordinarily gifted.
Mara had provided coffee and delicious cookies and pastries for the breaks.Later, Pam and Lana left class before the lunch break to brave the storm in order to bring us a delicious variety of pizzas. We gathered for a communal feast and a light discussion, before the final lesson..
Calvin closed with a special rendition of his understanding of Thane's message that was truly enlightening, ending with a heartwarming musical presentation. As they finished class, the sun broke through the clouds, and once again, as if on cue, it provided the tribe with a dry return to their homes to resume their lives as Pat and Clint Lambert, albeit slightly better versions.
