STORY: Everyone is born with a physical body that expresses physically as male or female. But there is more to us than our physical body! We each are also endowed with beautiful, unique gifts, abilities and talents that employ both masculine and feminine qualities to express. Yes, I have the physical body of a female - yet I am able to express masculine attributes such as strength and the ability to make a clear, strong decision and I am able to stand firm as my decision moves into expression. Also, I can express my feminine attributes of nurturing, supporting, listening and feeling compassion for my decision and for all those who are involved in it. Everyone is androgynous! Every class in The Prosperos School of Ontology has a lesson on Androgyny. When you identify as androgynous - you have access to both masculine and feminine attributes. All human beings need to awaken and accept both masculine and feminine attributes in order to move beyond our old mechanical habits, our ego-based identity that says we are separate from others as either male or female. Our True Self is both masculine and feminine! Wake up, feel gratitude and take ownership of your feminine and masculine attributes.
QUOTES
“What is the most beautiful in virile men is something feminine; What is most beautiful in feminine women is something masculine.” ~ Susan Sontag
“A great mind must be androgynous.” ~ Samuel Taylor Coleridge
“Androgyny is not trying to manage the relationship between the opposites; it is simply flowing between them.” ~ June Singer
“Nonviolent actions are by their nature androgynous. In them the two impulses that have long been treated as distinct, 'masculine' and 'feminine,' the impulse of self-assertion and the impulse of sympathy, are clearly joined; the very genius of nonviolence, in fact, is that it demonstrates them to be indivisible, and so restores human community.” ~ Barbara Deming
